Rev. Heinrich Georg Schmidt was born June 23, 1853 in Bischoffen, Hesse-Darmstadt Germany.    His parents were Heinrich and Elisabeth and they immigrated to America in 1862.   Heinrich attended school in Ft. Wayne, IN and later would attend seminary in St. Louis where he would meet his future wife Cordelia Johanna Albach.  Heinrich was ordained as a Lutheran minister in Crystal Lake, IL on July 25, 1875 by the Rev. A Detzer.   On July 27, 1876 Heinrich and Cordelia were married(107) by Heinrich's father who was a pastor at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Shaumberg, IL.   Heinrich would continue to serve as pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake, IL until 1880.   While in Crystal Lake, Heinrich and Cordelia would have two children, William who was born in 1877 and Clara who was born March 9, 1879.   From April 1880 to 1881 Heinrich was a pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN.   He was called to serve at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freeport, IL from June 1881 until 1899.   While in Freeport Heinrich and Cordelia would have several more children, Carl Heinrich was born May 2, 1891 and Edwin Johann was born Feb. 18, 1893.   On April 8, 1899 Rev. H.G. Schmidt was installed as the pastor of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI.   Heinrich and Cordelia would have their last child in Milwaukee, Margarete was born Oct. 9, 1901.   Cordelia's father Johann Wilhelm Albach would move from St. Louis in 1899 to live in Milwaukee with his daughter Cordelia and family.   Johann Wilhelm Albach would die a year later on Dec. 2, 1900.   Sixteen years later Heinrich's wife Cordelia would die in Milwaukee on April 30, 1916.   Heinrich would continue to be the pastor at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church until 1929 when he moved to Sharon, WI and was a pastor at Zion Lutheran Church until his death on March 21, 1929
