Frank
was born in Woodward, PA his parents were George W. Guisewite and Margret Rebecca (Dorman) Guisewite
(53).
Frank's siblings were John Lewis, Mays A. "Maizie", Charles "Charley", Lenora
"Nora", Charolet "Lottie", Mabel, and Elizabeth.
Frank also had two step siblings, Frank's mother
remarried to Daniel Stover after the death of George W. Guisewite, who died in
1895 and from this marriage there were two children,
Miles and Alma Stover. After the death of his father, Frank and his
brother Charley left Pennsylvania and made their way north working as farm
hands. Charley eventually got a job in Hudson, WI working for the
railroad. Charley persuaded Frank to move to Hudson and try to get a
job working for the railroad. Frank arrived in Hudson, WI around
1901 but didn't not get a job with the railroad, he found work as a street
sweeper and also at the sawmill. After moving to Wisconsin Frank and
Charley dropped the "e" in the middle of their last, Guisewite became Guiswite.
Frank met Susanne Fisher and they would marry on March 23, 1905 in Stillwater,
MN
(57). Their first child was Randall Orvis Guiswite, he was born Sept.
1906 and would die a short time later in Jan 1907. Frank and Susanne
decided to move to Montana. Homestead Act. Ruth Rebecca
Guiswite was born, May 29, 1911 in Baineville, MT(63)
(64). Shortly after her
birth they would move back to Hudson. Frank worked many jobs, ice
cream maker, railroad, etc. Frank loved to farm and garden.
He died in Hudson, WI on Oct. 16, 1970.
